How to apply Bianchi Bar Tape?

Hi

I haven't changed my bar tape before...oops! And have worked out how from videos, but the bianchi tape i bought has two extra coils of plastic as well as the stoppers...what do I use these for?

Is this what you are referring to?


You have the bar tape, 2 short pieces of bar tape the you use by the brake levers (some videos show you cutting a piece off your roll but this has been done for you) and 2 pieces of black sticky tape to finish off the end of the tape on top of the bar (to save you from having to use electrical tape).

I binned mine as they were not required!!

ah, excellent nice and easy then! Do you know what they are supposed to be for?

I guessed they were for finishing off the tape at the centre of the bars, I can't think what else they would be for. Hence why I binned them!! I don't miss them! :-)

Some of the 'wing' style bars on some OD bikes dont have round bar ends so its an extra plug to fit said bars.

Yes they are for the end of the tape at the centre. The cool kids use insulation tape to finish.

whilst we are on it, the bit of finishing tape supplied is woefully inadequate - get your insulation tape out.
