How long do tyres last for?

Obviously this depends on many factors, but I was wondering when you guys need to change your tyres. The approximate number of miles or KM is what i'm after.

Two to three thousand miles if not more. You'll know when it's time to change when you suddenly start getting loads more punctures than usual.

2500 upwards but you'll get through roughly 2 back tyres for every front tyre.

This shouldn't really happen if you maintain your tyres. There should still be rubber on the tyre and the puncture proof layer beneath that and those should carry on protecting you from flats. If you are getting lots of punctures, it's probably because you have left glass in the tyre.

Currently running Schwalbe Durano S on my Ribble. It's done about 3800 miles in all weathers since I put them on. The rear is rather squared off. On the front I can still see the mould line!
    Faster than a tent.......
  • The rubber will blister slightly before fraying thus exposing the canvas.
If there is no blistering or canvas visible,I'd say you're good to go.
