Replacement for Avid Juicy 3s

This afternoon I decided to do a bit of swapping around on my hardtail with tyres I had knocking around. This all went well but then upon putting the bike back together I just couldn't get the Avid Juicy 3s right, the spring on the pads on the back ones giving up the ghost and the front ones dragging. I've been pissed off with these brakes since I got them and have never been able to get them set up perfectly, so I've decided they need to go.
I've therefore had a look around for a new set of brakes. Rotors currently fitted are the Avid ones and they are OK, so don't need replacing. Rotors are 160 front and rear. Bike is a 2009 Trek 4500 with Reba RL Dual Airs fitted. I don't want to spend a fortune, say £100 max (I've recently crashed on my Nerve AM and I'll need to replace the brake lever on that too, so need to allocate funds to that). The bike only really gets used for mild XC now so I don't need anything too hardcore.
I was looking at these M596 Deore from Merlin at £95 for the pair. Are these decent enough or is there anything out there that is better value? I don't want Avid brakes again (I'm sure types other than the Juicy 3s are better, but I've decided on that).

Bargain, and good brakes. I'd take the Deore at that price.0

Your quick response much appreciated Supersonic. 5% online discount means £90.24 delivered, so I've just clicked "order".0

Actually, just on this (as I browse online) what is the difference between the 595 and 596 ?0

And did/will these fit straight onto the rotors that come with the Avid Juicy 3s? Bike is a 2008 Orange P7 if relevant. Thanks!0

I won't be fitting them until weekend, so I'll report then. There is no reason why not, though.
Ridiculously fast delivery from Merlin. Ordered Sunday, dispatched 9:17 Monday morning, arrived at the office just before noon today.0 -

It also uses the new Shimano "bleed screw" for the yellow funnel as opposed to the older 'pull the cap off and fill it up' technique.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0 -
Cheers - is one better that the other ?0

Excellent - that will save me a bit ! I will be ordering some soon (after just short of £200 on a replacement drivetrain). Thanks!0
