Stuck/seized rotor bolts

I want to change my rotors over but they seem almost stuck solid. I know rotor bolts are normally tight but these seem very tight.

Any tips on trying to release them (ideally without drilling them out)?

Boiling water sometimes helps them shift, it loosens them when the metal expands and also softens the locking compound. Also a good idea to use a brand new torx bit if the bit is worn you will rip the bolt heads to pieces. Keep the elecy drill handy though there always seems to be one that needs drilling out.

  • if you have anything like Plusgas then a little squirt on the inside of the disc flange can help ease the bolts out, depending what type of bolts you have also, if youve the socket cap heads then you can always get a maul wrench on them if they are screwed, if youve the button head ones then they are a bit trickier, but still do able,
agree with above, good quality new torx parts or allens are essential, cheap ones round very easily!!
