steep climbing and wheel spin

I did a few steep climbs yesterday on damp surfaces, these were country lanes through wooded areas ,so the surfaces would have been a little greasy. On a few occasions when I got out of the saddle i got pretty bad wheel spin. Both the other guys I was riding with, didnt experience this. Im using vittoria zaffiro tyres which are an entry level tyre, is this where my problem is?

Probably a combination of things; steep hill, greasy road, tyres, and possibly technique. Steep hills require a bit of a balancing act, if you've got your weight forward to keep the front down, it's easy to spin the back wheel.
Maybe PM th OP in this thread, hea seems to have the opposite problem, get together and you'll be flying

Zaffiros are pretty rubbish in the wet but if tho get out the saddle and don't apply the power evenly, it's pretty easy for the back wheel to spin and skip.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0
