I am looking at buying my first road bike. I am looking at the Cannondale CAAD8 105. Currently this seems to be around £799.

I know a lot of the online shops are doing their end of season sales now. Is this the best time to buy now or will prices drop a lot more over the next month?

Also what other bikes are top of their class for a £700-800 budget?

Any help would be much appreciated.

  • my caad 8 sora was 499 in february and is a super bike. it does it all and has never let me down including a few races.

Where did you buy your's from?
  • pauls cycles. its a 2011 model. but try westbrook cycles, i've just ordered a 2012 supersix with a saving of £650 and free delivery too
  • Prices may drop a little more but this is the main period of bike sales as 2013 stock replaces 2012. I'd act now if you see something specific you want.

Prices will keep dropping on 2012 stock, but you'll find the longer you leave it the more extreme the sizes left. Good if your a short arse or jack & the beanstalk. But if your 54 - 58 not much chance if you leave it too late.
