Sadly, like Cynthia Bower, she failed to do the decent thing and drink a pint of bleach, pop a hundred paracetamol, or hang herself from the office window.

With her undoubted skills, no doubt many opportunities will now be open to her in the PRC, Russia, and the Ukraine.
But why are the Conservatives doing this ? Because CQC whitewashes were getting too transparent ?

Hospital kills lots of people. Too many people notice. Public inquiry. Looks bad for quango supposed to be checking on hospital, as well as hospital. Non-exec director of quango says quango is rubbish. At public inquiry. Ouch. Chairwoman of quango finds doctor to say non-exec is looney & tells minister looney must go now. Minister says: "What you smokin?". Chairwoman resigns.
