Hi all,
Picked up my Boardman Team FS yesterday, it is 6 months old and in amazing condition. It was bought by the previous owner as a bike for use to and from work, however they decided to sell it and buy a Hybrid.. His financial loss is my gain!
Spec was completely standard when I bought it.. however I have upgraded the following:
Tyres - The Captain & Ground Control
Seat post Clamp - Hope quick release
Grips - Specialized BG Contour Ergonomic Locking Grip
More to come no doubt..

great looking bike mate
i brought the boardman team pro HT 2 weeks ago from ebay at half price
how dose the full sus feel??0 -
Zanush, I'll be honest, the tyres feel like they have made a huge difference.. My friend who also has a FS Boardman came out and met us in the afternoon, he has the Mountain Kings on still, and the difference with grip was obvious.. he tried mine after with the upgraded tyres and ordered them this morning for his!
Worth the investment...
I am very tempted by a dropper post as my next purchase  I really am fussy with my seat height, and as much as people look at me funny when I say I want a dropper, I have decided that it's me riding it, and I want one!
Winter Zombie, I love the Full Suspension, I have always had hardtails before, Rockhoppers etc... But now I have a FS I won't be going back, it really is great fun! My friend who has the Whyte still swears by hardtails though..
How are you finding your Boardman.. Love the the Team Pro HT.. great looking bikes too.!All the gear, loads of fear...0 -
The mountain kings are quite dodgy in the sludgy mud but i'll get a bit of wear out of them first before i change, but i'll defo check out the captain's when i do
Win'zom i can only echo danny's sentiments and i won't be going back to a hardtail for trail riding, i thought going full suss would be a lot of bobbing about but it behaves quite nicely, having said that i'm only a lightweight (8st 6lb) so not a huge amount of weight on the bikeBoardman Fs Team

im still on the mountain king 2.2 but i will probably go for a better tire in the next few months
i keep looking on here for a boardman owners club, as i think it would be great to see all the upgrades we have done and problems with our kit. if by any chance you know of anything please let me know

Another happy Boardman owner ht pro carbon 2012 . I went for bontrager team issue xr4 tyres and difference is amazing.0

Hmmmm you have the ht pro carbon, id love to see one and have a ride. very sweet
if you dont mind me asking how much did it cost ??0 -
Think it was around £ 1600 , I was fortunate in that after a battle with insurance the ht pro and my wifes bike plus accessories got valued at more than I paid . Hence upgrading to the carbon . It is undoubtedly better than the pro to ride . Main difference the sid fork being so much lighter and stiffer , saddle a fizik gobi is very comfortable , elixir 9 is in my opinion a good brake . I liked the ht pro a lot and to be honest didn't ride it that much before it was stolen . The carbon is a bike I just want to get out on . As my fitness has incread I am testing it more and more . Accelerates like a rocket when I can summon up the energy ! Only change other than tyres is a ritchey wcs bar at 720 and a 70 mm ritchey stem ( picked up second hand from here ) . Would agree with bike radar review only other thingif money was not tight would be a lighter wheelset .0

how on earth did you get a 2.35 on the front with out it catching ?
my mountain kings 2.2, + mud from my ride (on a bad wet day) leaves me just enough room
have you had any issues with your bike? and what have you brought that you think works well ??
thanks again0 -
Im getting the same tyres as you - The Captain & Ground Control; Just waiting for stock in local shop.
I'm very happy too with mine and still makes me smile at how fast it can climb and decend.
@winter zombie: I agree we need a Boardman owners club but have no idea how to do it......does anyone know how?

There's masses of room on the front. It measures 57mm across the carcass, so clearance would be very tight on the rear (the 2.2 rear measures 53mm), but on the front it's miles away from the forks. The tread blocks are similar size to the OE Mountain Kings, but the carcass is a little wider and taller. I had the same XR3 on the front in 2.2 (same as teh rear), but both sizes are at a bargain price at my LBS, so I just fancied trying the 2.35 to see what difference (if any) I could feel. Seems to roll just as well as the 2.2 (same tread), but the extra volume seems to give a bit more float over rocks and roots. I've yet to ride the bike in muddy conditions (thank god we've had a decent summer for once), but the rear would get clogged before the front, since those chainstays run so close to the tyre. Tbh, I'd probably be wanting something with a more aggressive tread for real muddy/wintery conditions, but the XR3 seems a really good all rounder.have you had any issues with your bike? and what have you brought that you think works well ??
thanks again
A few teething troubles (but those mostly due to poor assembly and PDI by Halfrauds gibbons. Details are in my thread, along with details and opinions of the changes I've made, if you want to have read of that (saves typing it all out again here, lol). Any questions, feel free to ask.0 -
