Doing the start in Nottingham. Unless the boss has better ideas for ways I can spend my day. Unfortunately with a wedding to pay for can't really turn the overtime down. I hope I am off work though. Apart from anything I'm a bus driver in Nottingham and the road closures are gonna be an absolute nightmare.

  • Live a little further across in Newcastle-under-Lyme, so will be at the Stoke-on-Trent stage. Not sure where to go yet (off work all day) either start in Trentham or some where along the way. Sadly my son has just gone to his mothers for a week, he wanted to come after watching some of the vuelta/olympics with me.

I have never been to a tour yet. Any advice?
  • Will be riding out with club to a hill to watch. Shame they aren't going over anything really lumpy, but will be interesting to see my first proper bike race.
  • We are going to ride down to the Sprint point at Duffield hopefully the bunch might still be together at that point.
  • Does anyone know where I can view the exact route I need to find a place to stand

The finish in Stoke should be good if recent years repeat themselves. Or if you fancy a bit of a ride, just near Stone they will go up Sandon Bank towards Stafford, pretty much the first climb of the day. I would recommend Cannock Chase but I think it will be swamped by people who speak funny

Will probably get around Trentham in the morning to see them off and make way to Hanley later in the day.

Marshall at the finish in Dumfries tomorow, there's a loop for the finish so will pass more than once but remember marshall are to watch the crowd, not the race...;-) We do get a goodie bag though.
