Hills around East lancs

Looking at going out with my mate next weekend from his house in Leyland. Normally we would do Rivington and then over Bolton way and back. This time we wondered about going Rawtenstall way but not sure what good hills there are that way. Anyone recommend any for us to have a go at?
Thanks.

  • Longridge Fell and the Pendle area have great hills. Or further afield head for the Trough of Bowland .
  • How about this.... http://www.millshills.co.uk optinal CYCLOCROSS route, timed HILLCLIMB section with prizes.
  • Head Pendle-wards. Choose anything from this route: http://www.ctcchallengerides.co.uk/CTC2 ... ortive.php - not hard to get to from Leyland.

"Don't be silly son, you're a bloke, you'll never grow up"
  • Already done the Trough several times and Waddington Fell, Jeffreys Hill, Nick O Pendle. I live near Blackpool so we tend to alternate between a ride from mine to the Trough or my mates to Rivington. Also did the 100mile Ride With Brad recently.
Just checked out that Witches Curse. It looks like you speed down Barleyfield before climbing into Sabden and up over Nick O Pendle. Good luck on that!
