MicroSHIFT Groupsets, any thoughts or experiences?

I'm thinking of putting together a CX bike on a budget and i've seen these MicroSHIFT groupsets which seem a cheaper alternative to Shimano, Campag or SRAM. Prices seem to be around $250 for shifters and mechs which is significantly less than 105/Veloce/Apex, has anyone used these systems or had any feedback from someone who has?

I have them and they are good, I don't like the shimano as the brake levers move which I dont like

What do you meant the brake levers "move"? Do you mean that you actuate downshifts (or upshifts on Soras, I think never used them) by pushing the levers inwards?English Cycles V3 | Cervelo P5 | Cervelo T4 | Trek Domane Koppenberg0

I'd be wary of using microshift on a cross bike. Groupsets take a serious hammering once you start riding and racing cross, you crash all the time, change gears under heavy load and generally hammer the cr4p out of everything. Reliability is key.
I would keep an eye on the classifieds and wait for the required parts to come up at the right price. It doesn't matter if things are a couple of years old or scuffed they just need to be rock solid and work.

I have microshift on my 2nd string road bike - I find it incredibly reliable, shifts well, prefer the shape of the levers to new shimano (it's more or less the same shape as old Dura-Ace) and at the more sensible prices that you can get it for, if you do crash and knacker it, then it'll be a damn sight less painful on the wallet.
In my experience, no probs at all.0 -

Yes I don't like the sora type lever as I find when pulling on the brakes in an emergency the brake lever moves around.

I recently put the Microshift arsis(their top of the line model) on my road bike and I love it. I ahve had no issues with it. Its light wieght and reliable. The shifter set up is very nice as well. Ive ridden Ultegra, 105, and apex but my favorite so far has been the microshift groupset. Its fairly light weight and the carbon breaks look very nice. Realiablity is no issue here its great and very well worth the money spent on it0

Somewhat contradictory or should that be contra-dictionary?0 -
You could have veloce shifters with centaur mechs for about £170, full centaur for £200, about £300 if you add brakes and chainset? Try Ribble.0
