I lurk a lot but not many things prompt me to post. I live about 20km from where the shootings happened and it has totally shocked the community, France has nowhere near the level of violent or gun crime that the UK and when something like this happens there is genuine sadness and outrage, that is one reason I'm happier here than I ever was in England. I have not heard one snide remark or tasteless joke from the french, unlike some of the comments in this thread.
