Got this frame at the end of last week and swapped components from this - viewtopic.php?f=40044&t=12854944&p=17626759&hilit=ribble+sportive#p17626759

Seatpost asthetically a bit short due to a combination of my body dimensions and the long seat tube geometry of these Canyons. I like to think of it as 80s/90s retro rebelling against the current trend of super long seatposts

Seeing loads of these on here recently. I can see why - they look like really nice bikes!!

    Road - Dolan Preffisio
    MTB - On-One Inbred

I have no idea what's going on here.

Really really nice, with the seatpost height, do you think you could have gone a frame size smaller?
(mine is set about the same)

Maybe, but really needed this size (58) for head tube height. The 56 is 15mm lower than the 58 which I thought was to much of a drop from my ideal just to get 20mm of extra seatpost showing.

The smaller frame would have been stiffer though, and for one more spacer?

Looks good, how does it compare to the Ribble? And you seem to have changed your position by lowering the bars/hoods and raising the saddle? (going on the lines on the garage)!

Canyon only allow for 15mm of spacers and that's what is accounted for, so no apportunity for the smaller size with more spacers than ther already is.

Have not been on a proper ride yet so cannot compare it to the Ribble. The photo's must give slightly different perspectives as the contact points are in exactly the same place, other than the saddle to bar reach which is 4mm shorter. That was the thing I was not likely to compromise on. Having spent good time and money getting bike fit sorted, changing those fit dimensions to match frame geometries is an exercise in madness. The bike should always match the rider not the rider to the bike (even if it does not follow current trends).

    It's a 58 with a standard 110mm stem
