Changing a Cannondale Killer V to road bike

I've got a Cannondale Killer V in polished aluminium which I bought new about 13 years ago.
A lot of the stuff has work out on it and so it was cheaper to get a new mountain bike which I did.
So I'm left with this and am thinking of converting it for road use.
Thinking of maybe single speed with baloon tyres, or maybe a fixie with deep rims.
Or will it take drop handlebars?
Also, the brakes have always been poor so could maybe change to V brakes.
Any suggestions?

V classy frame. I did a similar commuter conversion of my old mtb here:

... love that frame and always wanted one.
The beauty of cycling is, as long as it can be adapted for fit and it's geometry, you can ride it wherever. I've got an old Cannondale F500 that has seen far more pavement than dirt as well as an SVA900 (both have extra long stems that stretch me out more like a road machine than an MTB... both currently now sport "slick" tires and more roadlike gearing).

Thanks, dude. Not sure if Chris Dekerf would approve of the current configuration but the frame's a complete joy every time I ride it.0
