Hi I'm looking for some advice on what dirt jump bike to buy for my 13 year old son.
He's about 5' 6'' and still growing.
He wants a single gear bike with suspension.
I believe they come in at about £500, but we would like to spend less if possible!
We live in the South East.
Thanks

You may want to be sure that that is really what he wants and not just what he think he wants (having had teenagers myself) as getting the wrong bike can prove very costly.
A real jump bike is pretty hopeless for anything else.
A Pseudo jump bike but still single speed bike is Ok for round town kind of stuff but not as good for that as a
A geared bike which can be fairly useful for a lot of things while still looking like a jump bike!
A local lad had a Gary Fisher Bitter, that was jump bike style, reasonable forks and brakes but geared, having done some work on it fior him I would say it was a good bike for the price.

if he wants a jump bike under £500 and doesn't want a "hardcore" jump bike and can put up with gears or doesn't mind converting to single speed have a look at the diamondback groove:

if your in the UK i believe bikes direct give you 5% cash back if your a quidco member
or there is the diamondback beta:

both of these are bottom end bikes mind, just showing whats available for less.
also check out your local halfords mine has several single speed front suspension jump bikes in for under £500 and a few just over.0 -
