Rough cut of the commute to work

The good kind of commute though, mostly offroad.
I'm actually pretty pleased with the quality youtube has retained from the original.
It's nothing special, a pretty rough cut. Did it mainly to see what footage is like on the new GoPro with a chesty mount, and to test out the editor.
Now I've got the hang of it, I'll be able to start mixing in a range of different shots. Can get some static shots, and have a couple of interesting frame mounts sorted too.

Feel free to pick it apart with criticisms. I'll go first.
- As above, it needs a wider range of shots.
- Now it's uploaded, it's really too long for what it is. 4-6min would be plenty (although the point was to show the entire commute from my door to the office).

Cool! Way better than my commute (if I could be arsed to ride!).
Grass needs a cut.
Thats a long way to work.
Hope you got showers at work!0 -
Cheers
Yes it does, I'll get round to it, at some point.
It's only 5miles, and I can take the direct route home, which is 1.5miles, along the road.
Yes we do.0 -

I might do a short vid of the pleasant (plenty of deserted country lanes) bits of my commute. It'll be the yin to the yang of commuting RAAAGE!0 -
Nice! You lucky sod, that looks like a fun start to the day.
Is that a giant wooden c*ck that you ride past at 10:29 :shock:0 -
hahaha, I wondered how long it'd be before someone noticed that.
It's a huge gnome. Wierd little bugger isn't he?0 -

Weird little bugger? He looks like a right bell-end to me!!
Is it carved from a tree-trunk?0 -
it is indeed. It's actually very clever. Next time I'm down there I'll stop and get a picture.0

There's one similar on my way to the office (at the side of the road though), it's a trunk carved into a totem pole type thingy - why on earth that's in a little lane in Nether Alderley (Premier League Footballersville) I have no idea?
I'll take a detour and take a pic as well.0 -
It looks like a nice commute, i have 2 similar that i use, 1 is mostly uphill(so its better to come home this way), and the other is pretty much like in your video, is it me or are the 1st 2 mins speeded up footage,0
-
haha, yes I speeded up the first bit as it's mostly along the road and not particularly interesting. I mis-timed the last scene though and sped up the first bit of the off-road bit.
Could have just removed the road bits tbf, but I wanted it to reflect my commute from my door. If I was going to do it again, I'd probably use the time-laps feature rather than speeding it up. Similar effect, just looks better.0 -
Video looks pretty good! Would be happy with that commute!
I first thought the angle was really weird, mainly because it was showing so close to the bars and stem, but that sorted itself out.0 -
I am evidently blind as a bat, didn't see you change gear once...fatreg
