Bar tape

Any advice on some reasonably priced, reasonably padded/grippy bar tape?

Looking at fizik bar tape ATM, is there better out there for a similar price?

Have a look at Specialized S-Wrap classic, i swapped to it from Fizik after a recommention on here and i can't fault it.

I now use Fizik glossy bar tape on 2 of my bkes after the Deda bar tape got really dirty in just 1 months use! Now my bar tape still looks like new every time I ride the bike.

FSA Ultragel is what I use. I've got some extra gel pads under the tape from my old bike that had Specialized tape from the factory. I find the pads give extra comfort around the drops and the top of the bar. As the guys above me mention, Fizik tape is great, too, but expensive.

Can get the Ultragel from here. A penny short of £6 and free postage.

Eh?? There is no padding on the Fizik bar tape by default.
You can buy with the Fizik gel pads, but that is extra.

I would recommend Bontrager Gel Cork tape.
Good padding without being to squishy. And well long enough. I wrapped my 44cm FSA compact with these, and still had extra left.

S-wrap classic is good as well, but the bontragers are longer.

I used the Bontrager Handlebar Tape Isogel Padding With Black Tape. Just noticed that Evans recon it's discontinued!

Cinelli cork, ive been using it for about 5/6 weeks and it is the best ive used since sterting 2 years ago.

Fizik bar gel and microtex tape was £9.99 at Halfords online last week, I`ve literally just put mine on. Not too shabby for a 1st attempt at wrapping bars although the bit at the ends was hard to get tidy where the bar end plugs go in
