I've been getting loads of rim side punctures on my new sportif bianco, whilst repairing yet another i noticed this additional hole in the rim that looks like a fault to me.....would you agree or is it there for a reason ?

The finish is not very good and could be a factor in the punctures i'm getting (admittedly not everyone lines up with this extra hole)

and what the rest of the wheels spoke holes look like.

Should i get this replaced by Ribble ?

Mike.

Certainly edge of hole looks rough enough to cause a puncture - looks like a manufacturing fault.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
  • Looks pretty bodged to me! Silly question but you do usually have rim tape on there right?
  • yes but it was crap quality stuff that came with the wheel - ribble have since sent me some higher quality rim bands that i've only just fitted.

If this is a fault it'll only lead to wheel problems in future so i'd rather get it sorted up front...
  • Spoke to Ribble and they were shocked to see this obvious fault - new wheel being sent out to me.

Annoying as the problem is I can't fault Ribble's excellent customer service.
