Right now I have a Triban 3 as an introduction to road riding and must say its rekindled my enthusiasm for cycling. Previously I had dabbled with MTB and apart from the falling of I quite enjoyed it but the road riding suits me far better and the additional benefits on fitness and weight loss are far greater than I had previously expected.

The bike is used on the road for training and I would like to be entering a few sportives through the year in order to keep motivated and focused. My personal best at the moment is 30 miles but I definately want to be getting up to the 50 mark over time and hit that magic 100. I have a 500 and a Strava account so things are looking good so far.

So having done the investigating and research I have myself a little short list of bikes in the £1000ish range that float my boat as a replacement for the Triban. I am looking at Carbon frame as its something I have wanted for a while and the current short list is

Planet X Pro
Ribble GF
Dolan Mythos

Having purchased the Triban and ridden over 200 miles so far its now showing that its the wrong size and causing some issues that would be addressed with a bike the right size. Although not the 'prettiest' bike I am leaning towards the Plant X as I am thinking that taking advantage of the Retul fit at the time of buying will be a great benefit in getting the right bike size and fit from the start.

I suppose the question is ....is the Retul fitting likely to give me a better fitting bike if used in this way and will the calculation of bike size etc be superior to what the other manufacturers would be able to offer?

I appreciate that there are other fitting experts and services out there but these all seem to be an after the fact service and I don't want to be trying to bodge a bike that's to big to fit .

Thoughts , comments and advice are all greatly appreciated.

It's he 60 and with it being To long the saddle nose is causing major discomfort post ride. The theory that having the bike fitted properly and not just the ride round the store will save me hassle in the long run.

Okay..use the f&@king search ..just to show that I have been ..

Although I haven't found anything that can offer a direct comparison between Retul and standard fitting. I can see that there are issues with Ribble service but nothing related to fitting advice etc. I see reference to Dolan but again nothing on the fit and advice side of things...hence the post for a direct question.
