The Chair Song
I was at the velodrome yesterday for the paralympics, and when one of the dutch riders (or the tandem) was up, they played what I assumed was 'The Chair Song'. Now I'm not sure because I've never actually heard it but it sounded like it could be.
Can someone explain the relevance and perhaps post a video? I can't find anything on youtube so i assume its got a dutch name that I dont know.

Yes! I think that was it, or something very like it. Is there some sort of story behind the song and the raising of the chairs, Or did it just happen?0

I've actually found this website that explains a bit about the song, but the translated version is a bit confusing.0

Rick Chasey translation:
mijn oog dat viel op jou,
My eyes fell on you.
o nee wat is dit nou.
Oh what is this now
zo fijn gevoel met niks te vergelijken.
Such a nice feeling is uncomparable
ik weet niet wie je bent,en of je mij wel kent.
I don't know who you are or if you know me
zeg me nou hoe kan ik jou bereiken
tell me how I can reach you
ben je nog vrij, en zie je iets in mij
Are you still single, and do you see something in me?
ben je nog vrij, heb je een foto een naam en een nummer voor mij.
Are you still single, d'ya have a photo, name and number for me?
(refrein)
schatje, mag ik je foto, heb je een foto voor mij.
(cutie, darling, etc) can I have your photo - d'ya have a photo for me?
schatje, mag ik je foto, en doe er ook je nummer bij.
(cutie, darling, etc) can I have your photo and give us your number too.

This was the subject of an earlier post about 12 months ago - not sure if it ever answered the question of lifting the chairs tho'
