Off to Stile Cop in the morning all being well. Been doing the Red Run recently and am pretty confident with it although a long way from perfect but can do all of the bigger drop options. What's the next logical run to try? I don't want any nasty suprises!

FOD is pretty good, only an hour and bit drive from cannock, they have an uplift and i think tomorrow is a beginners downhill day?? sure i saw it advertised somewhere.

The blue downhill is great fun!

Ridge Run and Little Bringe, have a look down the black run too, see if you like the look of it, CDL might be worth a look too.

Cool, I'll take a look at those. Looked at the Black Run at the bottom when starting the push up. The last drop down looks ok (might not hit it full speed like some people do!) but the drop into the right handed looks a bit more man than me at the moment! Is there a line around that?

Are each of the runs ok to take a slow pace reccy down first without getting caught out then?

Yeah, if I were you I'd take it nice and slow, just roll down them to see what's there, few drops but you can see them in good time to decide what to do.

At Stile Cop the Ridge Run is the next logical step not as groomed as the Red Course and a few more trees to hit but otherwise if you're comfortable with the Red Course you will probably like it. Wonderland also not too shabby just another step up technically.
  • Is it advisable to tackle any of stile cop on a hard tail with knee pads and a fox flux? The official web page recommends body armour and a full face.

The Red Route is all rollable it's a bit like the last bit of Follow The Dog except steeper and more sustained.

Have been a few times on the HT in 'trail rider' mode it's OK but not much fun it depends whether you want to kindof ride down with the brakes on or destroy it :)
  • Am gonna go there for first time on monday, will do FTD and monkey trail, then thought i'd look at the red run at stile cop. Not gonna do anything risky though, and i don't want to get in the way of anyone better prepared than me!

It's a fairly mellow atmosphere on the hill there are a few Gwin wannabes but you won't get in anyone's way

From the Monkey instead of climbing Lower Cliff continue along the fireroad (the fireroad where the start of Lower Cliff is, not the one that takes you down to the level crossing) for a short distance until the junction with another fireroad, then turn left and follow it generally downhill. After a few hundred metres you will see the end of Stile Cop's push-up path on your right
