Is there anything my bike requires other than the standard stuff it has on it? Im a bit confused as to how they attach to the trainer.
I.e. can i buy any turbo trainer and put the bike on and get going within seconds?

Yep the only thing you need is a rear QR skewer which should come with the turbo - they do wear rear tyres quick though so you may want to think about getting a turbo specific tyre and a dedicated wheel if you are planning a lot of indoor miles.0

Thanks for that info! I would not have thought about that! Think i may just pick up a cheap rim and tyre like you say!

Some trainers e.g. Kinetic, supply a slightly thicker skewer to use in the rear wheel. A trainer tyre is also a good idea - this is a tyre with a harder compound so it runs quieter and lasts longer than your usual tyre. The trainer simply clamps the rear skewer. Dead easy to set up.
And before you ask, using a turbo trainer will not damage your frame.Basso Astra
