spd, how much float??

hi all just wondering if anyone can advise me on roughly how much float a pair of spd pedals(not spd-sl) offer, i know it probably varies between different pedals but i'm just curious as i like to have a lot of movement for my own comfort. Thought i would ask here before buying and regretting it.

I have these on my mtb think there are 2 types but the ones I have are around 6 degree which is more than my yellow spd sl on my road bike. You seem to get quite a lot of movement on the spd's.
