New here/new bike Felt S22

Hey everyone, picked up a first proper road bike this weekend and decided to go with a Felt S22 TT bike. I was more of a runner but I'd been riding for a couple of weeks as cross training since I had a case of shin splints and didn't want to do nothing. After that I got a bit of an itch for cycling and looked at doing TT's and hopefully some Tri's in the future.
Since getting the bike I've done a couple of 25 milers and a few 10 mile runs and the difference between this and the old commuter I was stealing from my Dad is like night and day, very happy with it. My current 10 mile pace is only around the 32 min mark at the moment so hopefully once the muscles get used to the position I'll crack the 30 min mark soon.

Out of curiosity, is there any sort of weekly distance a newcomer should be looking at staying under to avoid injury or is it just a case of listening to your body and resting when you feel the need?
Cheers, Craig.
P.S. sorry about the none white background, but unfortunately my garage is dark blue
