Facing a bb

Hello,

My lapierre Spicy 316 is in need of a new bottom bracket. It currently has a Shimano SMBB70.
Will a new bb need to be faced?

    the current one is external so it should have been done.

    How would I tell if it has?

    If it hasnt, willit need doing or as its been ok its not an issue?
