Perhaps those who don't NEED a good pad have got a fat ar$e?
You don't have to pay silly Assos money to get shorts with a good pad.More problems but still living....0 -
Seems to me that im missing one vital piece of cycling equipment.. A wife!
I've read mixed reviews on them though... are they worth investing in? From what you lads are saying i understand they stop the incorrect washing of bib shorts which is a great plus point, but i've heard they come with the drawback of nagging?
I've also been told you can't return them if you buy the wrong one and you don't get on with it, where as most other bike stuff you can return if its faulty...
Also unlike any other other bit of bike equipment including your bike itself its something you won't be able to change that often as its normally pretty expensive to get rid of one, and then its another expensive procedure to find another better one!
So whats the general consensus do i need to invest in one of these wife things, they really worth the money and hassel & agro just so i can sleep easy at night knowing my bib shorts won't be dis - coloured?0 -

you have started wrong there, you don't need a wife a long term lady can do much the same without the added expenses.
Try before you buy or just lease them long term and if you get sick you can always look to trade for a new possibly younger model. Be warned though the better looking models tend to take more maintenance and aren't as handy.
A rough diamond will thank you, a minter will expect you to thank them.0 -
As with bikes, the better the model, the higher the cost and maintenance.
Used models can be found that are both high quality and low cost but finding them is rare and takes a LOT of research.
Enjoy your research!
None of the above should be taken seriously, and certainly not personally.0 -
