Turbo vs. Rollers?

Ok, so I'm looking to but either a turbo trainer or set of rollers to keep myself occupied during the winter months, and I had a few questions regarding the difference between the two.
Firstly, what are the pros and cons of each? Which should I be looking to get to work on at home - I always thought rollers may be better because you seem more active on them, so being it recreates the movement of cycling better? Is this true?
Secondly can you change resistance on either, apart from gear changes?
Finally, could anyone recommend a good set of good value rollers or turbo to be starting off with?

You can on a turbo, put your front wheel on a riser or block to replicate your position when climbing, can't do that on rollers.I ride a bike. Doesn't make me green or a tree hugger. I drive a car too.0
