ANT+ HRM belt recommendations

I've got a Holux GPSport 260 Pro with a Holux HRM belt. I had to get Holux to replace the original belt/sensor as it intermittently stopped working. Holux were good in sending a replacement without any problem. The replacement worked well for a while but has now gone the same way as the original. Holux have now asked me to send this second one back and they will investigate. I'm not too confident that any further replacement is likely to be reliable.
The connectivity is through the ANT+ protocol.
I've heard that some of the Garmin belt/sensors aren't particularly reliable either. Any recommendations of good ones.
btw, I've done all the usual checks... made sure the belt is clean, replaced battery, used electrode gel etc..

Sorry to bump this but....
Are there no reliable HRM belt sensors out there that I could consider buying as an alternative to the Holux.
I'm presuming that any ANT+ ones would be compatible (but re they any good)?“You may think that; I couldn’t possibly comment!”

The "Garmin Premium HR Stap" is pretty good - much much better than their standard offering.

I see a few comments about sweat getting inside and it stopping working.... but this must be a faulty strap as I've (and many other people) go swimming with it on (its the strap that gets bundled with the 310XT and 910XT triathlon HRMs)
Works faultlessly and never get any odd HR readings (used to get it a lot with my older Garmin strap)Simon0 -
Thanks for the recommendation. I'll bear that in mind. Interesting point about sweat getting inside the Garmin belt.
I wonder if that's been the problem with my Holux belt. The replacement Holux sent me worked well for several weeks but started failing about halfway through a 6 week period I spent in France. The temperature was in the mid 30's+ for a lot of the time and the belt was absolutely soaked when I finished each ride.“You may think that; I couldn’t possibly comment!”

i've got the standard garmin one that came with a 705 over 3 years ago
its been drenched a few hundred times, sweat, rain, scrubbed under running water, no problems at all
looks like this...my bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny0 -
Having heard less than glowing reviews of the garmin belts I went for a timex, so far has worked without problem

I think ( and I could well be wrong) that most of the problems with Garmin belts refer to the "premium" version. This standard model seem more reliable.0 -
Thanks for the inputs... I guess it's a case of a thing working well for one person and not for another.
After a bit more Googling I get the impression that the Garmin Standard belt/sensor may be more reliable than the Garmin Premium version. I guess "you pays your money and you takes your choice"
At the moment I've sent my faulty Holux one back to them and I'm waiting for their response. On the basis they replace it again I'll give the replacement (the second replacement/third actual belt) and if that gives up the ghost I'll give up with the Holux one and buy something else.“You may think that; I couldn’t possibly comment!”
