I need to remove my cassette and free hub but i don't know which tool i need to buy as the patterns look too similar for me to tell apart.

It's a shimano cassette / hub. Is there a standard tool shape that i should be looking for or will i need to take the wheel to a shop to get it identified and matched to the tool?
I don't know enough to make smart r's remarks about peoples choice of parts 'n' things, yet!

There is only one cassette tool, and the freehub is irrelevant as its the lock ring that defines the tool.
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.
  • do i need a cassette holding tool, the bar with a chain on the end type?

Why do you need to remove the freehub?
