I know Campy are now doing triple chainsets eg on Athena and Centaur. Does anyone know if they are available yet in the UK? or when they will be available? thanks

Wasn't aware that "Campag" was doing them in Athena & Centaur, what sizes have you heard about?

I use an old 8 speed 'racing triple' which is 52,42,32. Think they did a 50,40,30 too. Wasn't aware they currently do a triple.

    Folks,

Check the campag website. They press released intention to launch/relaunch triple groupsets in the familiar lineup names very recently, should be on the website by now.
Actually they never stopped having a triple in the lineup. Can't remember the brand name. It some how got itself a reputaion for being inferior quality. I couldnt tell you if this was justified or just snobbery.

thanks. Just managed to check with the distributor and they should be available late September. Velonutter-there was an article in May on Bike Radar giving details of the 2013 range which will include triples.

The older 'existing' triple is still square taper - that's where it got the 'inferior' reputation from. When the campag groups went from square to external, they kept the triple range going in 9 and 10 speed as the 'comp', 'champ' and 'race' groups. More recently, it was just the single 10-speed 'comp triple' group (mainly for those tourers that wanted to stay campag I think): http://www.campagnolo.com/jsp/en/groupset/catid_8.jsp

The new triple sets are based on the existing powertorque groups: http://www.campagnolo.com/jsp/en/newsde ... atid_3.jsp
