What brake?

Tried to fit a rear brake to n+1 and failed. The brake goes in but the bolt on the other side is too big.
Any ideas? It is a Trek T1 frame which is hard to find much info on. Apparently shipped with brakes in some parts of the world. Or is it just a tease of a hole that doesn't do anything?
Deffo need to be longer too.

My understanding is you need a shorter brake nut
http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/other-brake- ... pt356_pg1/I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0 -

Thanks, thinking the same! Just stole my housemates front brake of his trek 1.5 and it fits bar needing the right bolt to hold it in. Think I'll just go down a hardware store tbh!
Might just go fixed0 -
I'm assuming the barrel bolt diamater is too big to go into the hole in your second picture.
I had the same problem and bought these brakes:
