For what use? Easy paths, or harder XC?

Ladies bikes might not be the only choices. My wife rides a standard Giant Talon and all the other women I ride with have men's bikes with short stems and ladies saddles

Of the two, the Vulcan is the better bike, hydraulic discs are more powerful (that is less finger pressure which can be a big plus for Women) and more reliable, in most other respects they are the same although the XCM forks on the Vulcan is claimed to have hydraulic damping, a claim missing from the XCM on the Vengeace, so it's likley the fork is better as well (yes the XCM can be had with and without). The Vulcan is a good choice and scores well in tests, but also look at the Voodoo Bokor for similar money.

Don't get hung up on getting a ladies bike, you may be fine with a mans, or find you just need a shorter stem/smaller grips/saddle (many people will change those anyway!) to make it comfy for you.
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.
