I've picked up some 2005 Boxxers of uncertain model. I've managed to find a user manual for the whole range but Sram only have a service manual for the Ride model on their web. From these, they seem to be a Race because there is a spring in both legs (the ride has only one) and it isn't U-Turn (which rules out the Team). PinkBike first look.
I have two problems; after dismantalling I discovered a pair of plastic washers that I think might be some kind of travel adjuster. I'm not sure where on Earth they came from, or where they go back to! They don't seem to fit anywhere sensible.
The other issue is the amount and grade of oil. The Ride model takes 220ml in the rebound side and 50ml in the other. The user manual for the 2004 models were 190ml in each leg. Thisfellow was using 10wt.
The spacer is sat in the middle to the left of the springs. I've also checked out the 2006 service guide just incase, but the internals appear different.
Edit -- It does have external rebound, the forks are in worse condition than I thought. The rebound damper shaft is fully seized and an owner at some point has rounded out the adjuster trying to get it to turn leading me to think there was no adjustment available. Fortunately, TF Tuned still stock the damper shaft but my £100 forks have escalated to £173 including seals... plus the paint and decals... I've probably the worlds only 7 year old £200+ Boxxers!

How deep is the spacer?0
-
There's two, interconnected. They look like you could add more to them, like lego. Each is about 3mm (6mm in all).0

I should also mention that the rods don't fit through the middle of the washers, so they must go on an end somewhere, but not the bottom as otherwise the footnut won't reach.0

Does the fork have preload adjusters?0

Could be preload spacers that fit under the top cap, or just spring guides.0

Preload spacer could make sense seeing as it isn't externally adjustable, and the lip which clips the individual spacers together does fit into the top of the plastic cone atop the spring, but not snugly...
