180mm travel forks

Hi all,
I'm looking to buy a set of forks for a Scott Nitrous 10 frame that I recently acquired. I want to use the bike for DH so looking for some 180mm travel forks for it, would love to spend under £500 but i know thats gonna be hard for some good forks. In my opinion forks are something worth spending a decent amount on as they can make or break a bike so I am after some good kit, something like Fox 36's for example but cheaper!
Cheers

You can easily get the more basic (but still good) 66's for under £500, same is true for domains and possibly totems. If you go used you can easily do that.0

Tapered steerer wont work for me unfortunately, I need either a 1.5 or a 1 1/8th as i believe the frame i bought is a 1.5 but has a reducer headset fitted. Can anyone help me out on steerer tube length? These can be cut down anyway right?2010 Norco Shore 2

so if I just get the longest steerer available then? Is that the best option? if not where should I measure from?2010 Norco Shore 2

Can't beat Totems. Excellent damping, mega stiff and last forever. £70 over budget but you may find cheaper.

Domains are also excellent. Similar weight to the Totems but not quite as stiff though still as stiff as 36's and last forever. Not quite as good damping as the Totems but these are an absolute bargain

2007 model but I don't think they have ever changed, they look exactly the same as my 2011 Domains.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -

Those are a bargain - I have the 302's on my Big Hit and they are a great fork and at that price for the model up worth having - Mine are the 2009 model and look exactly the same as those (graphics) but black lowers.Closet jockey wheel pimp whore.0

F.me! that is cheap. I tell ya what, a set of those and a set of the £200 Flows/Switch EVO's from Superstar has got me thinking...

I recently sold my 318 Domains on ebay and got more for them than those new ones cost. They were in good condition but hardly spotless.
