I've been offered a Pinarello Quattro FP2 at a killer prize.

However im concerned if it will fit me.

Height 6.0ft (185cm)
Inside of leg 35" (91cm)
My "Ape index" is positive by 7-8cm

The bike is 57.5CM however pinarello's are bigger than others right?
It's my first real road bike, so i have nothing to compare to.
You think it will be ok?

  • It could well fit you just fine.

I've heard of people that height (same as me) fitting bikes that size. It might have been a reasonably useful indication for flat geometry road bikes some time ago, but with modern sloping geometry the rules are different; and it's not as if the seat tube length actually dictates the size of person for which the bike is suitable, or ever did.

Your Pinarello size would be smaller than your standard bike manufacturing size, well it is the case with the current line up.

I found the geometri of the bike here:

    http://www.competitivecyclist.com/frame ... 10123.html

And did a calculated size here:

    http://www.competitivecyclist.com/za/CC ... SWER_8=185

    Can you see that data?

Most seem to lign up, except the top tube is a bit too long?
  • I have an FP2 and bought it unseen - however I did find out that the geometry is quite similar to the boardman team so I went to halfords and tried a few - the medium fitted (I'm 5 10) and then went from there - I ended up with a 53cm changed the stem to 115mm (had a bike fit) dropped a couple of spacers out the front end and its pretty much perfect.

    Hope that helps
