High end road shoes

edited August 2012 in Road buying advice
I've had a pair of mid range Specialized road shoes for years. They've done me proud, but are looking a bit worse for wear now, and I'd like to get a fancy pair of white shoes with a carbon sole for nice days out on the bike.

My budget is £200ish, I did consider Sidi's, I even briefly considered the Rapha grand tour shoes (I like a lot of their stuff, but £300 really does seem a bit much), and I've come round to Specialized S-Works in white. I've managed to find the 2012 version for £160 (presumably because the 2013 version is available now). So before I pull the trigger and order them, does anyone have any other suggestions that I might have overlooked?

To be honest, all the shoes in that price range have pretty much the same features - it's much more about what fits you the best.

That's part of the reason I was intending to stick with Specialized.

    Hi

I'm interested in a pair of those road shoes, where did you find them for £160?

    Thanks

They were listed on freeborn cycles for £160 earlier today. When I went to order them they were back up to £200, but I've just found this code AUGSPZ20 on their facebook page, which gives you 20% off on all Specialized products until the end of August. I've just ordered mine with the code for £160.

Giro Factor or Giro Prolite are both seriously good.
    Yellow is the new Black.

Freeborn were out of stock in my size. Offered me the 2013s for £210, which was a bit more than I wanted to spend. Have ordered the 2012s for £160 from here after phoning to check they had stock:
