Madone 3.1 or TCR Composite 2?

Looking to buy a decent road bike and these two have caught my eye.
I like the look of both, and both seem to get decent reviews. Some of you may have gathered from past posts that I'm a novice so thought here would be a good place to get some info/possible reviews if there's any owners.
I'm looking for a bike that will be good for both my commute, which is only a 10 mile round trip (potentially making this a longer ride once I sort a nice bike out ) and comfortable enough for rides of around 35/40 miles on a weekend.

The best thing to do would be to go to a shop and try both of them out to see which one feels right for you. I own a TCR comp 1 and love it, for a bike that has supposedly 'racy' geometry its very comfortable.0

Both are well specced and good road bikes. Get yourself a test ride of each to determine what feels right for you.
I ride a Madone 5.9. Same geometry as the 3 series. Really comfortable and I regularly ride 50 - 100 mile rides so can recommend.Trek Madone 5.9
