Just fallen in love with this. I know the spec is not great for £2500 but its a great platfrom/frame.

Will defo try one when they are in the shops but it will take me a while to get the funds together!

My question is do you think this bike will be similar to say a tarmac in terms of comfort? I cant find anything on the geometrey so its hard to say. i have seen the 2012 version in the shop and it doesnt look too aggressive (distance between saddle and bars on a 56cm looked ok for me).

I have read conflicting reports about the ride aswell where some say you feel every bump and others say its silky smooth - does anyone have any commnets on the ride? Coming from a Ti bike i will expect the bike to be stiffer but ridable on the surrey roads.

The geometrys are on the specialized website:

ok, so this is for the 2012 model but I doubt that it's changed for the 2013 model. Just new paint and possible new components

Called Primera today and hey advised the Venge is similar in terms of the geometery to the Tarmac but they advised against me getting one as its an out and out race bike (i am no racer  ). i understand what the guy meant but do you guys think the ride will be noticably more harsh compared to the tarmac?

Yes but you can tune the ride with nice wheels.

I took my 2011 S-works Sl3 tarmac out to the Ruislip concept store recently and rode back to back with their 2012 S-works Venge.

Venge is racier and frame stiffer. However, in terms of comfort it was more comfortable because of tyres and cockpit choices.

Ordered a 2013 Venge within 24 hours. Enough said AFAIAC.

So what wheels and tyres are recommneded? I have some handbuilts but dont think they will suit the bike 32/32 spoke count ambrosio excellights on Ultegra hubs.

    Bump.

Anyone know if there is a difference in frame between the Comp and other models? Apart from the mention of 11r carbon or some jargon, I can't seem to find one. You can buy the comp for £2500 or the frame only for you guess it, £2500, somethings got to give.

It feels nuts to be considering such a big spend on something refereed to as 'entry level'!

edit: I see the more expensive frameset is the s-works and has "FACT IS 11r Aero Race Design" opposed to just "FACT IS Aero Race Design".

It's a nice looking bike for sure. That's 2013s wages already allocated...
