Advice on forks for Scott Genius.

I have a 2008 Scott Genius MC 30 frame which I need a set of forks for. Looking to get something with 140mm travel but the problem is I'm on a budget of approx £150. Need to be 9pm QR as well otherwise I'll have to buy a new hub. Any advice on what would suit? Obviously not going to be top of the range on my budget but could I pick up a half decent second hand fork for that amount of money?

Cheers,

Toddy

Not much new for that money, if at all. I'd look at a 2nd hand RS revelation.

Cheers Supersonic. Realise I'm going to have to buy second hand but was wondering if it was even possible with my budget to get half decent forks for the frame. Will have a search and see if I can find a set of RS Revs.

    Thanks,

    Toddy

Thanks mate, the more suggestions the more likely I'll find something. Just don't want to compromise the frame by sticking poor forks on the front.

    Used Revelations or Pikes.
I just got a set of used Push tuned dual air Pikes for £140 and in excellent condition. Excellent forks.
There are good deals around if you can wait for the right set.

Thanks Rockmonkey, can wait (for so long!) but can you get pikes with a 9mm QR?

    Cheers,

Forgot about that bit! No they only come with 20mm maxle.
You should be able to get a reasonable set of Revelations with 9mm QR though

How about RS Toras? Know they're not as good as the Revs but would they be a good buy for the time being as I can get a set quite cheap.

Good point, guess my eagerness to finish the build and get out on it is starting to show! Really want 140mm but finding the right forks is proving difficult. Patience is a virtue I suppose

Thsnks mate, already watching these :D sent him a message and he says that there's no leakage but a bit wary about the wear on the stanchion.

Hmm, wouldn't touch them at that money, far too much for an old Fox.

If you can stretch to 220:

Cheers Supersonic, think I'll give the fox a miss. Those ones you linked to seem a good deal.
