I like the strap line "this slim fit shirt .......................features non-technical details inspired by traditional racing jerseys..." That's what we need - more 'non-technical' clothing! Nice shirts though , if you like Fred Perrys.

Hopefully without asking too much of a daft question, why are there WC rainbows (or "multi-stripe") on the cuffs?

    Nice shirts though.

all freds perry's are like that

They're not. They usually have a contrasting colour trim on collar & cuffs.

    They are defo WC stripes.

I quite like them, but agree the World Champs bands is a bit odd. British Champ bands, or a bit of yellow or gold, now that would make sense. Also, as a general rule, I think that anything other than the classic Fred polo has a tendency to look a bit chav, unless you are very careful.

I'd struggle to pay £65 for a technical, wicking, 'pocketed', zipped cycling jersey. But £65 for a £3 t shirt with what must be a £62 badge sewn on....?

Yeah, nice idea, but not so well executed. I'd rather have a regular polo with the button collar. And the World Champ bands are ignorant - puts me off.

    Monumental bell-end.

TBH, Ralph Lauren is going through a very bell end patch at the moment - not helped by their recent decision to make their badges REALLY F*CKING BIG

The US band sash thing doesn't work either.

    a) it's an american reference. Not cool.

    b) The band is the gimpy loser thing to do in America anyway anyway. Cool people over there do sports or beat people up and groom themsleves to look like pornstars. Apparently.

My thoughts exactly. I mean they make for a nice top, but seem a bit out of place. Tony Martin would be a bit peeved...

Although saying that, he has won Rainbow jerseys on the track, hasn't he?

He has, a few years ago now though I think. Maybe they should have just listed all his achievements on the arms like a roll-call, rather than just plucking a title from his past... they'd need extra long sleeves though

True, my bad. Still think a nod to his more recent history would have been better though. At least they have the bands in the right order this time, unlike their last cycling range.

    Fair play.
Not sure why they are there though, except to perhaps denote them as cycle-related?

There's a very similar line in the 'Jaws' book. Brody observes Richard Dreyfus' character (Matt Hooper) wearing a LaCoste...something like a 5 dollar shirt with a 30 dollar croc on it... :D
