To upgrade or not to upgrade, that is the question.

Looking at upgrading the forks and shock on my Pitch comp. Bike is coming up for 4 years old and sorry to say that both shock and forks have not been serviced as regularly as they perhaps should have!
I've been doing the usual trawling through websites looking at potential new bits and have come across a new RP2 shock for £160, so not much more than a full service on my existing X-Fusion O2R. Question is, is it worth just replacing the shock with the upgraded fox unit, the pro pedal would come in handy for the inevitable fire road slogs!
Also have come across a Rockshox Sektor RL solo air for under £300, to replace the coil U-Turn Pike 327's, which annoyingly have no lockout/compression adjustment. Ok, so a lot more than a fork service, but would shave nearly a pound in weight off the front end of the bike, and increase the travel to match the rear.
So what do people think, upgrade or service?
Cheers.

Pretty sure you can get a Rev for less than £300.0

The shock is the right size, although the stroke is 2mm less. This is going to drop the travel down a few mm but not more than 5.
I can only find revs with a 15mm maxle, currently running 20mm. Can easily change the hub to 15mm, running pro2 evo's, was just trying to avoid more cost! Also, had been led to believe that the Sektor and Rev's are pretty much the same, just a slight weight penalty on the Sektors.Spesh Pitch comp 2009
