Regular vs. through-axle 9/10mm Q/R

I just came across these Q/R through-axle options for ordinary fork/frame dropouts: 9mm link 10mm link. My unscientific instinct tells me that these can't offer any advantage over the regular Q/R skewer and hollow axle, can someone with experience of both shed any light on this?

10mm rear made a very noticable difference on my old Heckler, which isn't the stiffest of frames.0

All depends where the flex is. I have seen tests that show that standard shimano qr axles and xt/xtr rotors are stiffer than the small bolt throughs.0
