British best chances in the Worlds?

OK,

So Wiggins isn't riding the TT. The TTT is being ridden in trade teams. The men's RR is a 265km rollercoaster with a hill at the end. Any Brits in with a chance?

I can't see anybody British having much of an impact....Froome maybe the best bet?

Think Inseine is right, Pooley has a pretty good chance in the TT if not the RR.

Cancellara is out. Froome, if he does it, ought to be a shoe in for the TT silver.

It's a big ask after 3 Vuelta weeks.

Does anyone know the profile of this year's TT course? Surely Froome would be prefering a lumpy one no?

Maybe but he did ok at the Olympics which wasn't exactly mountainous. Surely, on current form El Perro Malvado is the fourth best TTer around?

Fair point, which is why I think he may not do it at all. But if he does, he's got to be in with a shout.

He'll do it, but he'll do well to make the podium.

Martin's got this in the bag, save for some more punctures.

I'm not sure Froome will do it either but the Vuelta was decent prep for Wiggins' challenge for the World TT last year.

I agree on Martin but who do you see beating evil Froome for the other two podium spots?

    Bobridge, Westra, and possibly Larsson.

Not sure what to think about Bobridge but Larsson and Westra were both more than two and a half minutes down on Froome at the Olympics. That's a fairly hefty gap in a race where they were all presumably trying. Will a combination of his form dipping and their possible improvement be enough to close such a gap? Don't know. If, as I suspect will happen, he comes in second / third in the Vuelta behind Contador and possibly Valverde I can see him being super motivated though.

    Dan Martin ;)

For the Road Races it looks like slim pickings.

Pooley could do well, the loop is a bit like Plouay where she's beaten Vos twice - but then, it's on home soil for Vos...
    How's Lucy Garner's climbing?

None of the elite men really has anything to suggest they could be in contention on this loop.

Read an interview with Lucy Garner the other day after she won the European Junior title - re defending her Junior title at the Worlds, she says its not a great course for her
