Not been on a mtb for over 10 years, been on the road and will carry on rr and tt. Kids are getting older so am building up a mtb, got a on one inbred frame and all the bits. Forks are the problem got my hands on some Pace 41, very nice but 150 mm is to much for me, do i sell them and get some and get either some 100mm or some carbon ridgid. Will be doing some xc racing and just some singletrack withmy lad, nothing to gnarly. Want to spend under £150.
ding dang do

Well carbon rigid would be cheaper and lighter, but whether you want to go rigid or not is down to you. I'd look at carboncycles. http://www.carboncycles.cc/?s=0&t=2&c=43&

If you want supsension forks then a pair of recons can usually be found for around that price, might need to shop around though, albeit you'll be looking at basic damping and coil springs.

If you were to go down the suspension route I'd be tempted to spend a little more if I'm honest. If you up the budget to £250 there are significant weight savings and performance improvements to be made. But it's up to you, if it's a strict budget then go for some recons, or alternatively look on ebay for some rebas maybe.

These would set you back about £235 with merlins current offer...
