V Brakes

Hi All,
Due to a fudging tea leaf I've lost my Rockhopper SL to scumbags, I do however have an old frame with a decent fork on it. The frame doesn't have a hanger for a disc brake on the back so I need to buy a rear V brake set up and a corresponding rear wheel. Any suggestions for a good value V Brake set up and a wheel with a braking surface? Not sure of a budget as of yet but any suggestions would be great!

You can get a bolt on rear disk mount. Not sure where from, but my brother has one on his Zaskar that uses the v brake mount and I think the drop out. It is not pretty, but it does work and doesn't affect the frame. alternatively, for not many pennies someone should be able to braze on a mount for you.
