Hi all,

I have just finished building a new but oldish boradman hardtail. the running gear and forks came off my Trek 6700.
At the moment it has 100mm forks but idealy i would like 120mm, its not essential but would be nice.

So what i need to know is will the frame take 120mm forks?

thanks for any help

You might need to be more specific.

    Define 'oldish'
But it will probably handle it. If not make sure you get it on film.

Find out from the manufacturer what they suggest for your frame

Also what forks are on there now and what forks would you be swapping to?

The axle-to-crown height is the measurement that's make the difference to the geo. I went from a 105mm 'zocchi MX Comp to a 120mm Reba RL but the A2C only increased by 10mm - which I guess has slackened the HA by 1° or something?

to be fair i hadent really thought about what forks they would be, just looking to get something soon with 120mm.

haven@t got the hang of geo yet and didnt realise that different 120mm forks would have different geos. but now i know i can do some digging and get more advice.

    cheers for you help
