Does anyone know of a good place to register your bike in case it is stolen

Only one I'd register with *before* it's stolen is immobilise as it's police approved, though there's no guarantee even then the data won't be nicked and they have a nice shopping list of bikes then.

The rest, register when stolen. Make sure you keep the serial numbers, can remember the spec or keep it updated somewhere and likewise take photos whenever you make changes to the bike. Then when it does get nicked, register it.

Though chances of getting it back via these are extremely slim.
