Chacon is a local boy one presumes - so keen to put on a good show, when there is little threat or will to chase him down.http://veloviewer.com/SigImage.php?a=3370a&r=3&c=5&u=M&g=p&f=abcdefghij&z=a.png

I've quite enjoyed watching the occasional crit, and I quite like flat sprint stages, but for some reason I can't get excited about this at all. The idea of having a GT stage as a circuit race just seems weird.0

Rick Chasey wrote:First hour of racing: 30.7km/h. 11'55" gap for one rider at 41km.
Apparently.
I averaged more than that on my commue through Glasgow this morning!
Is somebody trying to neutralise it a la the 2009 Giro?"In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

But an exciting Vuelta beats a dull TdF.
Exciting Tour of Poland or dull TdF?
Dull Eneco Tour or exciting Rick's Club Run?

I think my skillful save of a backwheel slide on the right hander under the railway onto Clyde Street was replay worthy."In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

Both brunettes' legs fade down to, not white, because they just aren't and could never, but to a tone much paler than that above. So we can conclude that, while cyclists, they're not anal-retentive about sock height. Which, I'd say, coheres with them - well, the one hand of the one girl about which we can even have this discussion - not wearing or not always wearing gloves. The middle girl and the blonde also appear to have cyclist-typical tan lines on their right and left arms, respectively; each girl's opposite arm is at such an angle, and the picture quality so low, that no conclusions can be drawn about that arm.1968, human content on bitumen.0 -

Does anyone else think Outsider art by Loan may have inadvertently joined the wrong forum :P ?___________________

I don't think that I've ever seen a rider riding as slowly as Chacon in a GT  The bunch are having to seriously slow down to not catch him!0

Now this is more like it, a nice proper week one GT stage, much better than yesterdays snorefest. You live and learn. At any rate, you live0

How have the fans resisted the urge to pop home for a siesta.0

I nearly posted when Frenchie started this thread that the podium girl pictures might be the most interesting thing about the thread."I have a lovely photo of a Camargue horse but will not post it now" (Frenchfighter - July 2013)0

The Vuelta had treated us so kindly until today.0

You need these stages to make you appreciate the good ones."I have a lovely photo of a Camargue horse but will not post it now" (Frenchfighter - July 2013)0 -
This is what the Vuelta is all about. Those long, hazy, dog days of summer.0

Degenkolb almost messes it up after a great lead-out, but wins ahead of Bennati.0
-
Was that Swift who appeared to just sit up and leave them to it?0
-
Yep. Looked like he got boxed in a bit.
Absolutely rubbish stage. No repeats of that, please.0 -
What are you guys expecting? Sprint stages have their place.
Shame Bennati didn't get that win. Would have made his year.
