I'm not sure if this has been done before, if it has I cannot see a thread. I'd quite like to see all your garages and places you work on the bike. I only have a block garage with no power, but this week I am aiming to "sort it out" to make it more workshop friendly to accomodate the working on bikes etc. How do you guys have all of yours and what tools/setup/things could you not do without?

I used to do this, except at the time the GF had a bigger bedroom so I just used hers. Might go some of the way to explaining why she's now the ex
Up at home I use anywhere, the garden (in the winter I wear a nice, warm down jacket and pop a gazebo up if I've got a lot to be doing). When nobody's around I'll use utility room, kitchen, bedroom (any with sufficient space). Even used the bathroom in the past. Don't use the sheds though, no room, they're full of bikes.
This coming year at uni I have my own little lean to/covered workspace just next to the shed to use. In exchange I'm having the smallest room in the house, which thankfully is still a double. The kitchen is also a fair size too so they may sneak inside in winter if it's too cold.0 -
I have a covered area outside my apartment that I chucked a hoist pulley thing up as a workstand - works OK - pit wobbly. Or I turn the bike upside down in the lounge (when its cold or the midges are out). Tools are in an old DC shoe box and a plastic tub.
I'd love a good garage set up with a wall mounted tool board and so on - goal for the next few years.Closet jockey wheel pimp whore.0 -

Funny enough I have just finished mine this week. I have a large shed and lately it was becoming a dump. Managed to get a workbench on Ebay for 99p locally. Some plywood from Ebay too, light from B&Q, vice from Lild this week. I don't have electrics but just draw an extension from an outside RD power point. I have a workstand from Decathlon, but may replace it with a folding one from Lild in the future to save space, and here is the result:

(Now also has about 1 3/4 more bikes in there)
Got power & lights, a radio (essential), a nice Minoura workstand, a decent bench and shelves/bits of furniture salvaged from other bits of the house. Basic but practical.
Do have to share it with the tumble drier and second fridge though...

Do work on the bikes in the front garden or back terrace depending on time of day; morning work, in the sun out back. Afternoon work in the sun out front 8)

is with the full compliment of bikes, wifes commuter and daughters little bikes on the floor, old bouncer on the right, singlespeed then the soul, wife's mtb and the tag along in the left corner, and an old saracen team on the wall by the window,
and the working area, try and keep it tidy but doesnt last long!!
sadly the bikes have to share the shed with the rest of my Carp! far too much in far too small a space for it!
