  • Ive got a HTC Desire S and there crap if that helps lol. Cuts calls off at random, poor signal. Just a note about HTC give it about 6 months and you will noticed the signal on your phone get worse. Ive had 3 HTCs and its done it on all of them, something to do with the operating system so best to keep it up to date.

One S is better on battery than the One X (and faster generally) as it uses a new tech S4 chip rather than a power hungry old tech quad core.
Although i find the GPS on it shocking! Bought a Garmin Edge 500 for the bike and use the 500 for running with a wrist strap.

Well that isn't strictly true. The One S uses a snapdragon S4 CPU with runs on snapdragon's proprietary 'Krait" architecture. It is A9, but it's closer to A15 than other A9 chips. The One X has the nVidia Tegra 3 CPU which is also A9 but uses a slightly older architecture with a larger manufacturing process (32nm vs the S4's 28nm). Sorry to get technical :L

Also, the quadcore CPU in the One X doesn't make it power hungry, as it is technically 5 cores, 4 at 1.5Ghz and 1 companion core running at 100Mhz. The companion core is used for things like touch input to save battery by not having to utilise the full 4 cores.

I have used both a lot and have found them to be essentially the same speed wise, but the One X is definitely better when gaming as the Tegra 3 GPU is much better than the GPU built into the S4. The One X is nicer overall though, 720P screen as opposed to 960x540 on the One S, 32GB ROM as opposed to 16GB on the One S etc, etc.
